The Thoma family have another hit on their hands! A short video film that combines the dancing of Sophie and an elegant Andalusian horse with the painting and photography of Helga Sülzle Thoma, all set to a light-hearted soundtrack from Beowulf AG, has been a huge success with online viewers. More than 327,000 views on YouTube and 697,000 on Facebook, with 17,700 likes and 3,502 comments, attest to the charm of this highly original musical entertainment.
The video opens with Sophie dancing solo to Beowulf AG’s jazz-inflected acoustic guitar music; she is then joined by 5-year-old Amelie, riding the magnificent grey Andalusian, Isleno. Impossible to say who is the more graceful, the girl or the horse? The dance sequences are interspersed with captivating still images of Privatgestüt Möningerberg by talented photographer Helga Sülzle Thoma. Flowers, Niccoline the cat enjoying a leisurely wash in the sunlight, enchanting Andalusian foals and mares in the meadows, views of Helga’s vibrant abstract paintings and Hans Thoma on PRE horse stallion Faeton in a field of sunflowers…the clip finishes as it began, with Sophie dancing alone as the music fades.
